How BIG PINK Came To Be BIG PINK

Hello, my curious beauties! It’s Leslie, the heart behind Elle Landon, and today I want to share the story behind one of our most beloved creations: BIG PINK Face Cream. The name isn’t random—it carries deep personal meaning, rooted in music, memory, and the quiet power of going back to what truly works.

What Inspired our BIG PINK Name

My husband Jon and I have always been huge fans of Bob Dylan. Growing up in Nashville, I felt an instant connection to his music, especially “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down”—that haunting, roots-deep storytelling that feels so Southern. Years later, while in New York City, we read about “Big Pink,” the famous pink house in Woodstock where Dylan retreated after his 1966 motorcycle accident. Members of The Band rented the house, and Dylan would visit, collaborating in informal sessions that gave birth to the 1968 album Music from Big Pink.

That record marked a shift for Dylan—from the electric chaos of his earlier tours to something simpler, more grounded: Americana roots, gospel influences, rustic instrumentation, and lyrics that told real stories. For me, it was a reminder that the most powerful changes often come from returning to essentials, stripping away the noise to rediscover what’s authentic and enduring.

That philosophy mirrored exactly what I was trying to do with skincare. I’ve always believed in treating skin concerns with natural botanical oils and vitamins—my own “roots-based” approach. No harsh actives or synthetic overload, just nourishing ingredients that work in harmony with the skin’s biology, delivering deep, lasting results. BIG PINK Face Cream felt like the perfect name, especially with its light pink hue: bold, unapologetic, and deeply connected to that return to what truly matters.

Now, What’s So Big About BIG PINK Face Cream?

BIG PINK Face Cream is our richest, most indulgent moisturizer—a true multitasker that delivers profound hydration and comfort for face, neck, and even hands. It’s designed to be used as an all-day hydrator, an overnight mask, or a protective barrier when skin needs extra support, especially in dry or cold weather.

The formulation is built around a luxurious base of plant butters and botanical oils that create a deeply emollient, occlusive layer to lock in moisture. Shea Butter, Soy Butter, and Moringa Butter provide intense conditioning and softness, while Apricot Oil, Rosehip Oil, Argan Oil, and Jojoba Oil replenish lipids and support the skin’s natural barrier. Beeswax and Lanolin seal everything in, creating a protective shield against environmental dryness.

Vitamin E oil offers antioxidant protection, and Vegetable Glycerin draws moisture into the skin. Yeast Extract and Lecithin contribute to conditioning and texture, while Citric Acid helps balance pH. The result is skin that feels dewy, plump, and protected all day and night—without heaviness or greasiness.

BIG PINK is especially loved by those with dry, dehydrated, or mature skin, or anyone needing a comforting, barrier-strengthening cream during colder months. It’s a return to the essentials: rich, nourishing, and deeply effective, just like the music that inspired its name.

If you’re ready to experience that same grounded, radiant transformation, BIG PINK Face Cream is waiting for you. It’s not just a cream—it’s a reminder that the best things often come from going back to what’s real.

With glowing love,
