The name LaLa Lisa holds a special place in my heart, inspired by my best friend of 48 years, Lisa Grissim. Back when we were 17 in Nashville, we had a wild night at a Jimmy Buffett concert at the Opry House—let’s just say I was a little out of sorts and lost both my contact lenses in the chaos! Panicked and teary in the parking lot, I refused Lisa’s offer to crash at her Nashville apartment. Why? I squeaked out, “Because I don’t have my face soap!” Even in my teenage haze, I’d rather face my parents’ wrath than skip cleansing my skin. We still laugh about that moment, a testament to our shared obsession with skincare. Lisa and I went on to become roommates and graduated together from Vanderbilt University, and she’s now a Nurse Practitioner and the Founder of both Profiles Laser and Medical Aesthetics in Gallatin, TN (where you can also find our Elle Landon products!) and Restore Hormonal Vitality and Wellness Center in Brentwood, TN. Our lifelong friendship, rooted in love and laughter and our love of skincare, nourished my soul and inspired this balm—a cleanser as nurturing as our bond.
