Last Minute Shopping Gift Guide

xmas.jpg

It’s that time of year, friends, and if you’re anything like me, then this means it’s that time of year when your Christmas shopping list makes you acutely aware of your procrastination. I always start out great, making a list of everyone that I want/need to buy for during the holiday season toward the end of October (basically once Target overhauls their seasonal section), and even sometimes purchasing one or two gifts as I make the list. But inevitably, by the time double digit days of December hit, I realize that my October organization skills were nothing but false comfort.

This is usually when I start checking the gift guides from all of my favorite magazines and virtual friends to try to wrap up my list, and this last-minute gift guide googling inspired me to create something to hopefully help you round out your own list. I asked Elle Landon founder, Leslie, to help me compile a list of some of our very favorite purchases this year, and we’ve included items that we think could not only help you cross off nearly everyone on your list, but items that the folks on your list will be genuinely excited about. So, without further adieu, let’s get down to business (because let’s face it: time is running out).

For the candle-lover (we all have at least one in our lives):

White’s Mercantile “The Warren” Candle

This candle belongs on a greatest hits list of masculine-inspired scents: a little musty, a little woodsy, and still very fresh. White’s Mercantile is owned by Holly Williams (daughter of Hank Williams) and holds a special place in Leslie’s heart, as she grew up down the street from the Williams family. Les has memories of Hank Jr. shooting off a cannon every New Year’s Eve, and if that’s a way to ring in the new year, I don’t know what is. The Warren, as well as other unique finds that could round out your gifting, can be found at any one of White’s locations.

For your dad who is a total Christmas nerd:

Vintage decorations from The Looking Glass

This shop isn’t just for Christmas gear, but we have to say that it really shines during this time of year. There’s a great selection of classic indoor decor, and we also love browsing their garden accessories. Anything you get from here will win points in the unique category, as the selections are truly original. Maybe you’ve never even heard of Waynesville, but we promise you it’ll be worth a little trip to this historic town to visit The Looking Glass.

For your BFF who has a separate closet for her shoes:

Cute sneaks from ABLE

Nashville has its share of notable boutiques and small shops (like White’s), but we cannot get enough of ABLE. Not only do they have a collection of unique clothing, accessories, and home goods, but they are on a serious girl power mission. They’ve partnered with manufacturers across the globe to hire a staff of 95% women, and with a mission to pay those women a living wage. Sustainable fashion that truly emphasizes both the sustainability AND the fashion? Yes, please. We are obsessed with these sneakers, but don’t sleep on their bags, as well.

For your brother who’s always snapping photos:

A vintage camera lamp from Sara’s House

Sara’s House is appropriately named: when you walk in, you feel like you are walking into the most well-designed home with the loveliest host. Sara is thoughtful about how she curates her shop, and it shows. Everywhere you turn, you find something unique, like these camera lamps that are actually made by Sara’s husband. We know you’ll find something, if not many things, to round out your 2020 shopping here.

For your sister with the green thumb:

a gardening hat from Brim

Walking into Brim feels almost like walking into an amusement park, so even if you don’t wind up finding a Christmas gift here, we still highly suggest you stop by. Their hats are bright, fun and unique, and you just want to try them all on. We love this gardening hat, but Brim has hats for all occasions. This might be the perfect place to go for your friend who is always talking about trying hats but not yet pulled the plug.

For your friend who’s always on-the-go:

travel-sized Elle Landon Face Oil

Okay, so we couldn’t make a list without highlighting what perfect gifts some of our own products make. Particularly, this travel-sized face oil is a great option for someone who flies often because this oil is the antidote to high altitude dryness. Or it might be perfect for someone looking to switch up their skincare routine, but not wanting to fully commit yet (although, commitment issues will likely fall away once they try our oil blend). Ordering online is easy, or you can also check out our retailers.

Moral of the story, we’re down to five days, friends, so get shopping! And as much as possible, support your favorite local shops this season, because your support will be the greatest gift to each of them. Happiest Holidays, all!
